"Representing the likes of Milton Avery and Wolf Kahn, the Marianne
Friedland Gallery (359 Broad Avenue South, 239-262-3484) stands out as
a spare and serious modern and American contemporary gallery amid blocks
of more ornate, decorative works..."
Wolf Kahn, Milton Avery, Al Held, Friedel Dzubas, Jules Olitski, Hans Hofmann, Janet Fish and Esteban Vicente are among the major artists exhibited by the Gallery. Master American printmakers, including Alex Katz, Frank Stella, Larry Rivers, Donald Sultan, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist and Jeff Koons also are regularly on view. Marianne Friedland brings to Naples 30 years of experience in the art world. In addition to the Naples, Florida gallery, Ms. Friedland operated a sister gallery in Toronto, Canada for more than 25 years. She has written art criticism and numerous articles about business trends, been actively involved with museum exhibitions, and is a former board member of the Professional Art Dealers Association of Canada. Morley Greenberg, Ph.D. joined the Naples gallery as a director in 1990. A collector of long standing, he previously co-founded a high-technology company. Based upon the complementary business and art backgrounds of the principals, gallery selections are guided by three criteria: scholarship; connoisseurship; and an understanding of the economics of the art market. The aim is to provide works of quality and value. |
